Citizens Sheriff’s Academy Class coming in September!
The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office will be offering their Citizens Sheriff’s Academy Class this fall, beginning on Thursday September 5. This class is held for 10 weeks, each Thursday evening, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Each class features a different area of the Sheriff’s Office, with instructors who specialize in that area. All classes are held at the training facility on Lima Avenue, except the jail class, which is held at the office at 200 West Crawford Street.
Areas of instruction include firearms, jail, transport, School Resource Officers, road patrol with radar demonstration, detectives, K-9 units, as well as general information on the office and its duties.
