Responses to Record Requests

Generally, records are available 3 – 5 business days after an event is reported.

Responses to Record Requests will be made during normal business hours, Monday – Friday 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. excluding legal holidays.

Information Needed to Find Records

• Type of incident (Crash or Complaint)
• Location of incident
• Sheriff’s Office Report Number
• Date of the incident or time frame
• Name of a person involved in the incident
• Deputy’s name

Please provide as much information as possible to help us locate the record.

Cost

Crash reports are now available at no cost online from the Ohio Department of Public Safety.

Cash, check, or money order should be made out to Hancock County Sheriff. Sorry, no debit or credit cards... nothing electronic!

• Accident report, witness statements, Narratives: $4.00.
• Photos (provided on HCSO disc) $4.00.
• Photos (on requestor’s disc) are available at no charge.
